2 Organisation of the document

This part of the DSR standard comprises seven clauses and one annex. Clauses 1–4 provide the scope, core terms, with definitions and abbreviations used in this standard. Clause 5 then defines two structures for this profile the choice of which is dependent on the availability or not of release data. Clause 6 provides a mapping between specific use types and Records used in the Basic Audio Profile for The Mechanical Licensing Collective. Clause 7 defines how to signal that a Sales/Usage Report has been created in accordance with the Basic Audio Profile for The Mechanical Licensing Collective.

Finally, Annex A provides the release notes which describe the differences between this version of this part of the DSR standard and previous versions.
